What our people say

Peter Taylor

I started at Judge and Priestley in 2013 as a Paralegal. I had just finished my LPC and was eager to pursue a career in law. I started in the Private Client team and we were a relatively small team at the time. I was mentored by David Chandra who was a Partner.

I assisted the Solicitors in all work matters which increased my learning quickly. After a year as a Paralegal, I secured a training contract and was a Trainee Solicitor for two years. I continued to develop my knowledge, expertise, and specialism in Private Client work. I also undertook a seat in Debt Recovery. I qualified as a Solicitor in 2015. Since qualifying as a Solicitor, I continued to grow my own portfolio of clients. I undertook accreditations and became a qualified member of the Solicitors for the Elderly. In 2020, I became Senior Associate and in 2021, I was promoted to Partner. At present, I am undertaking my accreditations in Society for Trust & Estate Practitioners. I have completed the first 2 examinations and have 2 examinations left to complete until I can join my senior peers as a qualified member.

As of 2021, I moved from our Bromley office to the Beckenham office where I have a sub-team from the Private Client team reporting into me. Judge and Priestley is a great place to work which in no small part is because of the people that work here. When I qualified as a Solicitor, my team had arranged balloons, a card, presentation, and gifts. It was incredibly thoughtful to be recognised for all the hard work I had put in up to that date.

When I was growing up my ambition was not to become a Solicitor but to become a football player, and like many children round the country dreamed of playing for England at Wembley. I enjoyed the social side of school and making many friends. I was into sports and played football, cricket and rugby for my schools.  I undertook the International Baccalaureate and so did 6 subjects until I was 18 (History, English, Spanish, Geography, Maths and Physics).  I particularly enjoyed History and English which led to me having a passion in law and politics and eventually led me to choose law as a degree.

My first ever job was as a Barman and I worked at several bars and VIP events as a cocktails and drink maker.  I worked at private parties in West London, the Olympics, ParaOlympics, Twickenham, Ascot, Shakespeare Globe to name a few events / locations.

Nowadays I am most happy when I am travelling and love to explore places that I have not had an opportunity see before.
