Chris Elliott

Partner

Chris joined Judge & Priestley in November 2022 as a partner in the Private Wealth Disputes team. Chris has over 30 years’ experience working in private litigation and successfully representing clients in complex private wealth and contentious probate matters.

Experience

Chris has wide ranging experience of advising beneficiaries, executors and trustees in relation to a broad range of disputes concerning the management and apportionment of family assets including:

  • Challenging / defending wills
  • Estate and succession disputes
  • Contested probate
  • Trust disputes
  • Other disputes involving the management / apportionment of assets

In addition, Chris also has experience in the following areas:

  • Professional negligence claims
  • Landlord and Tenant
  • Building disputes
  • Boundary disputes
  • Commercial disputes

Chris uses his extensive experience and knowledge of this often-complex area of law, to successfully resolve contentious wealth disputes in a timely manner, whilst being considerate of the high emotions such disputes can sometimes elicit. Chris provides much needed practical advice and wherever possible, promotes the resolution of disputes by mediation, before costly Court action is needed. When this proves impossible, however, he has a wealth of experience in dealing with claims and disputes through the Courts.

Chris trained in Central London and qualified as a solicitor in 1991. He became a partner at a South East law firm in 1995 and has built his reputation as a leading private client litigator in the local area over many years.
