The Inaugural BPG Charity Golf Day

Judge & Priestley and the Acorn Group are delighted to have hosted the first Bromley Property Group Charity Golf Day on 20th April at Sundridge Park Golf Club.

Friends and professional clients of both companies went head to head on the hottest day of the year so far, to battle for the winner’s trophy!

Team Captains - Robert Sargent, Acorn Group’s CEO and Steven Taylor, Judge & Priestley’s Managing Partner - were joined by golf enthusiasts representing over fifty businesses from South East London and Kent. The conditions were perfect, and after a 1pm shotgun start, 80 golfers tee’d off with players representing Acorn in red shirts and blue shirts for Judge & Priestley.

After a competitive round in soaring temperatures, teams congregated for drinks on Sundridge Park’s stunning new terrace and enjoyed a delicious buffet created by the Club’s new chef, Simon Caple. The winners were crowned and raffle tickets were drawn, with prizes including Porsche driving experiences, a TV, a meal at The Shard, and so much more! The pairs awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes on the day were Grant Seeds & Oliver Sargent, Steve Taylor & Mark Gidman, and John Walsham & Emma Mason respectively. Lucy Speed and Rob Upton took home ‘Longest Drive’, and Oliver Stavrinidis was crowned champion of ‘Nearest to Pin’. Unbelievably, the overall result was a draw! Both Acorn and Judge & Priestley’s teams drew at 10-10, so the winner’s trophy will spend time in both offices until next year!

MacMillan Cancer Support was the chosen charity for the day’s fundraising, and an astounding sum of £4,500 was raised. Hundreds of raffle tickets were purchased by generous donors on the day, and an online auction of West Ham Vs Manchester United tickets helped raise an additional £400!

Steven Taylor said “The golf day was a tremendous success and it is an excellent opportunity to network and build relationships with clients and contacts within the property industry, as well as participating in a friendly and relaxed round of golf.”  Steve added “We hope to make this an annual event, together with other networking events throughout the year, targeted at professionals within the property sector and we look forward to moving this forward with Acorn”

Robert Sargent added “I’d like to thank everyone who attended the first BPG Charity Golf Day and donated so generously to our chosen cause, MacMillan. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to spend the day with, and I look forward to working with Judge & Priestley to ensure this is an annual fixture moving forward.’

There are three key ingredients to the perfect golf day; the course, the weather and the players, and there’s no doubt that Acorn and Judge & Priestley’s event on 20th April ticked all of the boxes.
