Judge & Priestley achieves its first "top tier" listing in the Legal 500 UK Directory

Judge & Priestley LLP, the Bromley based solicitors practice, is proud to announce success in the 2020 edition of the prestigious Legal 500 directory of leading UK law firms.

The most notable development for the practice in the recently announced 2020 results is being recommended as a top-tier firm for debt recovery.

The division has an excellent reputation in the industry, notably in key specialist areas including local authority debt recovery, utilities sector pre-legal collections and the recovery of subrogated insurance losses.

Presenting their findings on J&P Credit Solutions, The Legal 500 stated that:

“Judge & Priestley LLP have 'a great depth of experience' in debt recovery, enforcement actions and also provide a subrogated recovery service for insurance companies. The firm serves a broad client roster including local authorities, utilities companies, financial and professional service providers and leading insurers...Key figures in this sizable group include Mark Oakley for service charge recovery, Rachel Addai for local authority and insolvency-related matters, and Uday Patel for commercial debt claims. ”

The Housing Management team, led by Partner Nitika Singh, have successfully retained their Tier 2 position in the listing of leading teams for the South East region in Social Housing.

The Property Litigation and Housing Management teams advise on contentious property matters. The Housing Management team has been successfully acting, predominantly for public and private sector landlords, for over 20 years. After interviewing clients, this is what the Legal 500 judges wrote about the team:

“Judge & Priestley LLP's practice has undergone significant expansion, with it adding two new solicitors to the team in March 2019. The firm has a strong track record in contentious housing management matters, including possession claims, and cases concerning anti-social behavior and nuisance. In a notable development, following a competitive tender process, the firm was appointed to act for the London Borough of Southwark on disrepair cases. The firm also advises the same client on housing management and property litigation (including leasehold matters). Social housing head Nitika Singh is recommended for complex housing management litigation, including cases concerning homelessness, allocations and succession. Mark Oakley leads the property litigation practice.”

Both Mark Oakley and Nitika Singh are listed in the elite “Leading Lawyers” list, the Legal 500’s guide to outstanding lawyers nationwide.
