Another record year for J&P in the Legal 500 listings

The Legal 500 UK Solicitors 2023 rankings – the leading guide to law firms and solicitors in the UK, was published last night, and Judge & Priestley is delighted to announce another year of successful results. We have retained our positions in three categories and been ranked for the first time in three additional listings.

Judge & Priestley is pleased to announce another year of remarkable achievements in The Legal 500 listings, which are independently adjudicated and based largely on client feedback to the guide’s research team.

Our three previous positions were retained:

  • J&P Credit Solutions retained the team’s Top Tier status for Debt Recovery for the South East region.
  • The Housing Management team retained its Tier 2 listing for the South East.
  • The Private Client team retained its Tier 2 ranking for the South East.

Additionally, we were listed for the first time in the following categories:

  • Debt Recovery: Tier 2, London region.
  • Commercial Litigation: Tier 4, South East.
  • Family: Tier 4, South East.

The rankings reflect the result of months of extensive analysis by The Legal 500’s research team, who conduct thousands of interviews with private practice lawyers and read through tens of thousands of submissions in order to select the very best lawyers and law firms in the UK. As part of their research, they also canvass the views of more than 40,000 GCs and clients.

Upon the publishing of the listings, Rachel Addai, Head of J&P Credit Solutions, commented:

“We are delighted to have retained our Tier 1 ranking for Debt Recovery in the South East, this represents our fourth year of holding this ranking. We are further pleased to have now been ranked in Tier 2 in the London Region. In truth we provide our services to clients across the country and internationally, however it is always great to get recognition in both the South East and London regions, given our geographical base. Our growing focus, not just on debt recovery work, but also on complex commercial litigation cases, has also been recognised in our listing in the commercial litigation category in the South East region.

The Legal 500 listing is a really important external judge and marker of the quality services we deliver. These listings would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff, who consistently deliver for our clients. I would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to all of our team members in the J&P Credit Solutions division of Judge & Priestley.”

Debt Recovery Partner, Uday Patel has said:

“Very pleased to retain Tier 1 status in South East, and extremely happy to be recognised in other categories on the first time of trying. Being ranked Tier 2 for Debt Recovery in London shows the strength and depth of the teams in Credit Solutions and is reflective of the work we do for clients across a broad spectrum of industries. Being ranked for the first time as a recognised Commercial Litigation team also evidences the specialist knowledge and expertise of the division within the firm as a whole. Thank you to Legal 500 for the accolades. We also extend our gratitude to our clients and referees and to the teams within Judge & Priestley Credit Solutions for their continued hard work and excellence in delivering services”.

Regarding the listing of the Family team on Tier 4 for the South East, Head of the department Kelly Sharman commented:

“I am absolutely thrilled that the team has been ranked in the Legal 500 for the first time this year. The group as a whole is really pleased that the hard work and dedication put into all of our cases has been recognised.”

One of the teams that retained its listing from last year was Private Client. David Chandra, Head of the department, said:

“Fantastic results for our superb team, experts who are highly regarded in Private Wealth. Soon we’ll be a team of 30, stay tuned for the surprise: 01/11/22.”

On behalf of everyone at Judge & Priestley, we would like to take the opportunity to thank our clients for their generous reviews, which have allowed the firm to be listed in this year’s The Legal 500 guide in six different categories, and we invite you to take a look at all our rankings here.
