Woman awarded £5,000 after driver crashed into her stationary car

A woman who was injured when a car smashed into the back of her vehicle has been awarded £4,950 compensation.

The woman was 23-years old at the time of the accident.

She was sitting in the driver’s seat of her stationary car when another driver crashed into it from behind. The impact sent her car into the rear of the vehicle in front of her. She sustained injuries to her neck, shoulder, hip and lower back.

The injuries caused her intense pain, stiffness and discomfort. She also developed travel anxiety as both a passenger and a driver.

She was off work for five days and struggled with household chores such as ironing and was also restricted in her ability to have sexual intercourse.

Her hip and back injuries were expected to recover within 10 months, as was her ability to carry out household tasks. Her neck and shoulder injuries and her anxiety were expected to resolve within 12 months.

She was awarded £4,950 for her pain, suffering and loss of amenity after the other driver admitted liability.
