Brian Portner

Brian joined Judge & Priestley in June 2025 as a Consultant Solicitor in the London Property team.

Experience

Brian, who graduated from The London School of Economics, founded central London firm Portner Law and headed its Commercial Property Department, before its merger with Judge & Priestley. He has a wealth of experience acting for pension funds, banks and property companies, both public and private.

He has particular expertise in development projects, often advising on suitable structures as well as dealing with joint ventures, funding, building contracts, environmental issues and planning (including planning agreements with local authorities, particularly where there is a social housing element).

Brian also deals with corporate transactions, particularly where there is a property element.

Outside of work

His interests include cinema, theatre, music, playing the piano, reading, football (sadly now watching rather than playing), yoga, jogging with his German shepherd dog and spending time with his family.
