Judge & Priestley LLP Featured in The Times Best Law Firms 2026

Judge & Priestley LLP is delighted to be recognised for the first time in The Times annual Best Law Firms list for 2026, which highlights the top 250 solicitors’ practices across England and Wales. This prestigious accolade is based entirely on peer recommendations from fellow solicitors and barristers, making it a true mark of the firm’s reputation and standing within the wider legal community. Being included in this list reflects not only the firm’s legal expertise but also the trust and respect it has earned among its professional peers.

This year’s listing further highlights the firm’s continued growth and high-calibre work across a range of legal disciplines. Headquartered in Bromley, Judge & Priestley expanded its presence by opening its first central London office earlier this year, following its merger with West End firm Portner Law. This strategic move has strengthened the firm’s geographical footprint, broadened access to its services, and enabled it to better serve a growing and diverse client base, while continuing to uphold its commitment to professional excellence and client-focused service.

The Times specifically commends the firm’s family law practice, showcasing complex and high-profile matters the team leads, including representing a father in ongoing Children Act proceedings involving significant disputes around a child’s medical treatment, education, school attendance, the keeping of a pet, and time spent with each parent, a case so complex that an independent guardian has been appointed to act for the child. The publication also highlights the firm’s work in a successful appeal involving a proposed relocation of a child to Cornwall, in which Judge & Priestley represented the father in challenging an earlier decision that allowed the move; the appeal court found the original judgment had strayed beyond the available evidence and incorrectly exercised discretion in favour of the relocation, resulting in the order being overturned and the mother withdrawing her application to avoid a retrial.

The firm’s Family team, led by Head of Family Kelly Sharman and partners Maria Conesa Gonzalez, Angela Amponsah, and Yanoulla Kakoulli, receives particular commendation. Judge & Priestley extends warm congratulations to them and the entire department for their outstanding contribution to this recognition.

Judge & Priestley remains committed to ongoing investment in legal technology, professional development, and strategic expansion into key service areas. These initiatives support the firm’s long-standing values of being EXPERT, PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of its diverse client base.
