Peace of mind in later life starts with the right Solicitor
Planning for later life is something many people delay, yet timely advice can make a major difference to you and your family. At Judge & Priestley, we are committed to offering clear, specialist guidance, and we are proud that two Partners in our Private Client team are accredited members of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers.
This article explains who the Association are, what sets accredited lawyers apart, and how our specialists can support you.
Who are the Association of Lifetime Lawyers?
The Association of Lifetime Lawyers (formerly Solicitors for the Elderly) is a national, not-for-profit membership body for lawyers who work with older and vulnerable people. Members specialise in areas such as wills, probate, powers of attorney and care-funding, and undertake additional training in capacity, communication and safeguarding.
Their aim is to ensure that those who may be frail, unwell or vulnerable receive clear, sensitive and appropriately tailored legal advice.
What makes a Lifetime Lawyer different?
Accredited members combine strong legal expertise with an understanding of the practical realities facing older clients. They are trained to:
- Advise on wills, estate planning, LPAs, deputyship and care-funding
- Work sensitively with clients affected by conditions such as dementia
- Spot risks of undue influence or financial abuse
- Communicate clearly and patiently, often involving family and carers where appropriate
This blend of technical skill and empathetic client care helps families make robust, well-informed decisions.
