An asset transaction (buying or selling) is similar to a share transaction, but as the purchaser, you acquire specific assets and liabilities of a business, rather than the company itself. This allows you to cherry-pick the assets you want, such as property, intellectual property, or contracts for example, whilst leaving unwanted assets and liabilities out of the transaction.
