Head of Private Client

David is a partner and Head of the Private client Department. David has extensive experience in successfully acting for high net-worth clients – individuals, charitable bodies and financial institutions.

Experience

David’s extensive experience in acting for high net-worth clients, ensures that he has a wealth of knowledge upon which to call in order to advise on all aspects of the law in this field, with particular emphasis on:

• Probates
• Wills
• Powers of attorney
• Inheritance tax planning
• Trusts
• Court of Protection matters
• Elderly client services.

David has regularly advised and administered complex high value estates, worth in excess of £13m and has also drafted highly bespoke wills for business owners and high net worth individuals.

David underwent his training in a London firm where he became a Partner and Departmental Head. Having subsequently enhanced his legal expertise during his employment with one of the Legal 100 firms in Manchester, David joined a traditional practice in Kent. As a Partner there, David was highly regarded for his skills and experience which led to the growth of a successful Private Client Department.

Recent Highlights

David successfully challenged care fees imposed by a Local Authority, which resulted in a ‘write off’ in excess of £100,000 in favour of his elderly client.

David rigorously challenged the NHS Continuing Health Care Funding, in a representation against NHS England.

Memberships

David is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

David is also a member of the Rotary Club and sits on the Board of Trustees for Young Enterprise (South East London).

Outside of work

David enjoys cycling, travelling and snooker. David is also a Coldplay fan and keen supporter of animal rights.
