Judge & Priestley achieves Greenly Gold status for 2024 sustainability reporting

Judge & Priestley Solicitors (J&P) has received its Greenly Report for 2024, confirming an upgrade from Silver to Gold status following the completion and submission of the firm’s carbon assessment data for the year.

The 2024 assessment was supported by strong internal engagement, with 86% of colleagues who worked at J&P during 2024 completing the sustainability survey — a key part of the evidence base required to finalise the report.

The Gold upgrade reflects measurable progress across several operational areas, including:

• A continued move away from desktop PCs, with more colleagues working on laptops
• Increased home working, reducing commuting-related emissions
• Energy-efficiency improvements at J&P’s Bromley office, including changes to lighting
• Closer engagement with suppliers to support greener practices
• More sustainable purchasing decisions across the firm

Building on momentum in 2025

J&P has already begun implementing further measures expected to strengthen its 2025 reporting position, including a move towards 100% renewable energy for the firm’s utilities, alongside equipment upgrades such as new screens with built-in port replicators to support more efficient ways of working.

Looking ahead, the firm recognises the challenge of achieving a 6.3% year-on-year reduction in emissions, and has updated the CSR Committee’s focus and structure to accelerate progress.
