Sacking an employee for whistle blowing can be an expensive business. Raj Mattu, a Cardiologist was awarded £2.5million in compensation when he was dismissed from his position as a Cardiologist at Walsgrave Hospital for reporting that over-crowded heart wards had lead to patient deaths.
