Our History

Judge & Priestley was formed in 1889 by founders Eugene Judge and Horace Priestley. Originally based in central London, the firm relocated to Bromley in the 1940’s after its offices were destroyed in the Blitz.

Values

At Judge & Priestley, we have identified three core values that we strive to exhibit in all our dealings with our clients, suppliers and with ourselves.

These values are Expert, Professional and Friendly.

Expert

We will invest in the continual development of our people, team and also technology to ensure that we continue to be experts in all that we do.

Professional

We are accountable to our clients, colleagues, and all those with whom we engage to ensure that we are open, transparent and act with integrity in all that we do.

Friendly

Whilst at all times being professional, we will ensure that we are approachable and seek to put those with whom we deal, at ease in their dealings with us.

Our clients tell us that these are the attributes they want from their solicitor and our Partners and staff are proud to deliver these values on a daily basis. To check out our client reviews please visit Review Solicitors

In the community

As a progressive legal practice, we have long been aware of our wider responsibilities to the communities that we work in and serve. Though we have a long history of local community involvement, our commitment to adding social value has been formalised in recent years through the formation of two key committees, one covering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and the other Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I).

The CSR Committee is headed by one of the equity partners, Robert Davis, and made up of staff members from across the business. The committee is tasked with agreeing and delivering on our environmental policies, and charitable / community engagement activities.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At Judge & Priestley, we are proud of our record on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) and believe we are one of the most progressive firms in the legal sector in this regard. The firm is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workplace which embraces equity. We are committed to tackling and combatting discrimination. This is not only a feature of our values but one of the firms’ objectives.

Don’t just take our word for it
