Trainee Solicitor

We are looking for a Trainee Solicitor to assist in the provision of legal services and the giving of legal advice to clients of the firm, through the undertaking of a variety of technical and administrative tasks as directed and under close supervision and finally to complete the relevant training requirements as stipulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake an appropriate caseload of straight forward matters within various legal areas, under close supervision
  • Assist with the preparation of documents
  • Attend straightforward court appointments
  • To undertake legal research and report findings to relevant team members
  • To establish and maintain excellent relationships with clients
  • To undertake all related administrative tasks in accordance with company procedures
  • To communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a clear and accessible manner
  • To ensure the confidentiality of the firm’s and client’s documentation and information
  • To assist in marketing and networking activities whether on a firm-wide, departmental or office basis
  • To adhere to company standards, policies and procedures at all times
  • To contribute positively to departmental and firm-wide activities
  • To undertake relevant training as required
  • To comply with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Code of Conduct at all times.

Key Requirements

Qualifications

  • At least a 2:1 in a relevant degree      
  • Successful completion of the Legal Practice Course with distinction or commendation

Experience

  • Previous work in a legal practice or similar environment
  • Experience of conducting legal research

Knowledge

  • Awareness of topical legal issues

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and logical manner, using plain English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently, seeking advice and support as required
  • Self motivated
  • Ability to prioritise work and re-schedule as required to meet deadlines
  • Ability to think ahead and use initiative
  • Good IT skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to summarise research and/or case material in an appropriate format and level of detail
  • High levels of accuracy and good attention to detail
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Ability to represent the firm in a professional and positive manner at networking and other events
  • Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to straightforward ‘real life’ cases, making recommendations where appropriate
  • Ability to make submissions, present a case and deal with questions arising

Account Manager x 3 - Collections

We are looking for an Account Manager to join the Collections Team on a full time basis. To manage your own case load within the Collections Team, working within Company procedures and guidelines, to meet or exceed company standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Prioritise daily work load, ensuring client related issues are dealt with efficient and effectively within SLA timescales.
  • Deal with clients complaints efficiently, referring them in accordance with company procedure.
  • Hold client meetings on a regular basis in order to build and manage client relationships.
  • Client meetings need to discuss performance and obtain feedback with prompt action of any matters and issues arising
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines ensuring targets and monthly target profit income is achieved.
  • To undertake any job specific training.
  • To ensure the confidentiality of the firm’s and client’s documentation and information.
  • File management of computer documents and correspondence.

Key Requirements

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Understand the client’s industry sector and their collections process.
  • Strong negotiation and Relationship Management skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills, verbally and written
  • Ability to prioritise workload and re-schedule as required to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Case Management System.
  • Must be organised, practical and pragmatic.

  • Be able to work unsupervised.
