Making a Will can often be confusing, particularly if the estate is complicated and there are numerous beneficiaries. A cheap ‘Do It Yourself’ Will bought over the internet may seem like a bargain at the time, but may not be a suitable option for a complex situation that needs a more ordered Will. If you get it wrong, the Will may be overturned.
What happens when a Will is contested? Today’s extended families are often complicated and where a financial inheritance is at stake a small grievance can easily escalate into a full dispute.
This seminar has been designed to give attendees a better idea of how to structure their own Will in order to avoid disputes or how to challenge a relative’s Will.
Topics to be discussed include:
The Making
- The legal guidelines for making a Will.
- How to structure a Will to best protect your assets
- Saving Inheritance Tax
The Breaking
- What can go wrong: the legal grounds for challenging the validity of a Will
- The criteria for judging whether someone has the capacity to make or change a Will
- Unfairly excluded? The fightback!
This seminar takes place on Thursday 03 June from 6pm to 7.30pm. All local residents and employees are invited to attend. The seminars will take place at the Judge & Priestley offices in
